Partner Spotlight: The LPGA Tour
Gainbridge®, a Group 1001 company, has partnered with the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) Tour for the last six years, using official LPGA Tour events as platforms to drive positive change. For the past three years, Gainbridge® has served as the title sponsor for LPGA Tour events in Florida. Gainbridge® also served as the sponsor for the LPGA Tour’s Indy Women in Tech Championship in Indianapolis from 2017-2019. The tournament's key pillars focus on youth education, STEM, women's empowerment, and community impact.
Our partnership has impacted more than 6,500 youth, created more than $1 million in donations, and brought more than $42 million in economic impact to Indianapolis and Palm Beach County communities.
There’s a new name for the 2023 tournament! November 9 – 12, Gainbridge® is sponsoring The ANNIKA driven by Gainbridge at Pelican, featuring a tournament purse of $3.25 million – one of the largest on the LPGA Tour. Golf Hall-of-Famer Annika Sorenstam is hosting Tampa Bay’s LPGA Tour event, benefiting her non-profit organization The ANNIKA Foundation.
“Seeing my name on an LPGA event is very fulfilling, and I’m thankful to Gainbridge for helping The ANNIKA Foundation expand our reach at the professional level for current and future women’s golfers,” said Annika. “Our goal of developing women’s golf around the world while empowering women and encouraging children to lead healthy, active lifestyles becomes even more achievable with the support of Gainbridge.”
New this year, Gainbridge® is making a $300,000 donation (over three years) to Fairways to Leadership. The organization’s mission is to increase diversity in leadership by teaching college students from diverse backgrounds the leadership skills they need to become effective business leaders and the networking skills that can help them access leadership opportunities.
The program is based on an innovative and immersive curriculum that uses the experience of playing golf to teach leadership and networking skills.
Golf is an important part of American society, with 33.5 million total golf participants, and 74 million individuals either watching and/or reading about golf while never having played on or off course. Golf is also an important contributor to business opportunities:
- 90% of Fortune 500 CEOs play golf.
- 80% of executives believe playing golf enables them to establish new business relationships.
- 50% of female executives say being able to talk about golf allows them to be more successful.
Group 1001 and Gainbridge® will continue to partner with the LPGA and The ANNIKA Foundation for years to come to provide opportunities in women's golf at all levels while teaching young people the importance of personal development, including living a healthy, active lifestyle through fitness and nutrition.
