This is May at Group 1001
There’s nothing like May in Indiana. Every year, Americans count down the days until the Indianapolis 500® – the largest single-day spectator sporting event in the world – returns to the track. May is also an exciting month for Group 1001 and its employees, as Gainbridge®, a Group 1001 company, is the presenting sponsor of the Indy 500®.
With the parallels between racing and our business – a commitment to success, innovation, technology, and making every second count – Group 1001 celebrates May in big ways. Group 1001 and its companies are committed to improving communities through sports and education and creating positive changes in our communities. Here is a rundown of how Group 1001 celebrates sports, our employees, and our community in May.
On May 4, 40 Group 1001 employees will race in the OneAmerica® 500 Festival Mini-Marathon/5K. The route includes the iconic 2.5-mile lap around the Indianapolis Motor Speedway® (“IMS®”). Employees are sponsored by Group 1001 and offered personalized training plans and nutrition sessions by partners at Fit Flex Fly®.
At the Group 1001 headquarters in Zionsville, we will bring racing to the office. Employees can attend a Porch Party with Penske® Entertainment CEO Mark Miles and IndyCar® drivers Colton Herta and Marcus Ericsson on May 7. The Gainbridge®show car will be on display and sweet treats will be on hand for employees to enjoy.
On May 10, Group 1001 will host Teacher Appreciation Day at IMS®. About 80 teachers in greater Indianapolis will attend the Grand Prix practice session. Teachers will enjoy luxury hospitality and prime viewing from the top floor of the pagoda. Then, from May 15 – 17, more than 600 Group 1001 employees will watch the Indy 500® practices.
